GLASER, PAUL ADRIAN on 12 Sept 2022, at age 62 of Ventnor and Port Republic, NJ

As you hear music in your life, you will hear our friend, mentor and one who is considered a brother by many. Paul (P.A.) is survived by brothers Gary (Sherry), Tony (Susi), Richard (Elaine) and nieces and nephews Rosemarie, Rich, Marisa, and Wil.

Paul attended Stockton State College with a focus on Community Organizing/Political Science. During his tenure there it led him to being a founding member of and his lifelong part-time career (1984-2022) with Stockton University’s radio station WLFR 91.7 FM. During his time with WLFR he served as a DJ with programs such as Radio Anarchy, This is Pop, Black Plastic, Alpha Waves, and the Chicken Bone Beach Hour, Paul was also the Jazz Music Director and served as WLFR station manager at various times. Most recently he was the Assistant General Manager at WLFR who specialized in training and mentoring student DJs for the station.

Paul was an ardent, stalwart supporter of live music. When he wasn’t busy keeping the airwaves filled with innovative non-commercial alternative programming, Paul would often travel throughout the tri-state area and beyond to support all kinds of music and all kinds of venues.

Paul was an exceptional musician who loved, wrote, recorded and performed hundreds of his own songs on his Fender electric bass guitar. He was a non-conventional player who could sing his well-crafted lyrics counterpoint to his bassline. He was a founding member and co-writer of his band Noise Museum with musical family members 1adam12, Niko, Jeremy, Guy, Daneil, and Dan. Paul also wrote, played and recorded with several other bands over the years: Ventnor Middle School Rock Band (VMSRB), Motor Trend, 100% Fun and Woozlebug.

When he wasn’t involved in important causes and promoting music Paul worked at Resorts International Casino Hotel in the 1980s to 2010s (Golden Years of Atlantic City). Paul enjoyed his job at Family Empowerment as a shuttle driver at the time of his passing.

Paul was a lifelong open-minded learner and inspired by all music, from classical to punk, notably The Beatles, The Kinks, XTC, Mike Watt, Thelonious Monk. Paul embodied a DIY ethic, had a keen sense of humor and was consistently a champion of the underdog. He loved old cars (especially ‘63 Dodge Darts) and motorcycling. He enjoyed cinema, cooking and all things unique. Paul was a feverish collector of pop memorabilia and pop culture, and recorded music in all formats.

Paul will always be remembered for his ability to listen to people and exerted great influence on those who knew him. Paul was the embodiment of a true friend whose kindness and generosity was unending and inspiring. He was also an artist and visionary who could see around the corners and always teach you something new.  We are all better for having known him. He will be greatly missed every day by those who knew him.
